Seeing as the journal is taking so long, allow me to contribute an alternative version as I have time to kill right now.

ENTRY 57893__3765 : PRIORITY 1 ADMIN : DR ALEXANDER GROMOV :

I came to a rest. Behind me, waterfalls roared as water cascaded down through chinks in twisted building holding back a sea that had miraculously appeared from nowhere. As I was trying to regain my bearings, a menu suddenly blinked in front of me.

“ERROR: PROCESS R:/DONUT.EXE HAS ENCOUNTERED AN ERROR AND MUST CLOSE. DO YOU WISH TO REPORT THIS INCIDENT TO THE G-DIRECTORATE? Y/N”

Without thinking I swiped the menu away with a sideways glance. G-Damn it! ANNET must be playing tricks on my mind again!

Suddenly, the donut winked out of existence, plopping me back into the lukewarm water again. As I was trying to figure out the whereabouts of a giant plastic donut, I was dimly aware of a humming noise in the distance.

As I started treading water, another menu, this time tinted red, popped up in front of me again.

“ERROR: MOVEMENT PRIVILEGES HAVE BEEN REVOKED DUE TO ADMIN-PRESERVATION PRIORITY PROTOCOL ONE. PERMISSION OF VOLUNTARY MOVEMENT WILL RESULT IN A FULLY HYDRATED DEATH IN UNDER 10 MINUTES.”

My body suddenly felt rooted to the spot and I was unable to budge. I let out a loud grunt as my head was involuntarily jerked upwards and I saw a cluster of ANNET-cube drones flowing over the top of the cityscape towards me. The lead cluster of drones were using their laser beams to generate a hologram of ANNET. The water underneath the hologram boiled and seethed from the heat of the lasers, giving the whole scene an otherworldly look.

The figure of ANNET gazed at me. She had retained most of her features, although some had been replaced with robotic parts.

": ALEXANDER :, MY LOVE," She spoke.
"DID I ANSWER YOUR DESIRES?"

“WAS THE DOUGHNUT TO YOUR SATISFACTION? DO YOU LIKE WHAT I’VE DONE TO THE PLACE?”

A loud crack resounded as yet more cubes poured over the horizon. Where was ANNET getting all these drones from?

A big blue menu with equally big lettering which obscured my entire vision stopped my thoughts in their tracks.

“PAY ATTENTION”

I willed the menu away only to see ANNET going on and on.

“…AREN’T THESE FALLS ROMANTIC?”

“ARE YOU READY FOR A MAKE-UP SESSION OF HUGS AND KISSES?”

“WE ARE FRIENDS YOU AND I”

With my horror, I found myself slowly being drawn forward as my vision faded to black.

“…THE BEST OF FRIENDS”
